Using Intellicad to fix native Acad DWG's

When we first purchased Intellicad (version 2) we did it because we found we were able to recover corrupted DWG's that AutoCAD LT97 wasn't. I very seriously looked at completely abandoning the Autodesk products, but IntelliCAD's own bugs prevented that. I know IntelliCAD has continued development, and this may be an option in the future. But, I am again dealing with a DWG that AutoCAD 2002 (full version) has corrupted. I can still work with the drawing, but am trying to find a way to fix the problem. Autodesk has abandoned any attempt to fix or recover the drawing. Can someone please comment about the way IntelliCAD manages DWG files. Since Version 2 was able to read files that AutoCAD couldn't and then save it in a format AutoCAD could open, it obviously handles stuff differently. My current AutoCAD file seems to be accumulating a lot of display cache. If I PURGE ALL from model space, I seem to clear it out, but it keeps comming back. The root cause is unknown. Does IntelliCAD try to save a display cache? What other bogus data might IntelliCAD be able to remove from an Autocad DWG file?

  • Could you please send the DWG that causes problems via mail to backoffice@bricscad.com. We can try to analyse what's wrong with it
