RIBBON DROP DOWN MISSALIGNED

Hi all im having an issue where the drop downs from for example from the layers part of the ribbon doesnt align with the actual layer drop down pull down they actually appear on my second monitor, it happens with all ribbon menus that have a drop down and all are missaligned by a different amount, ssome offset left, some right, some on another screen…. any ideas. Replies may need to be in n00bie as im not very computer literate

    example the layers drop down ( freehand red border ), drops down offset and wierd sizing ( freehand blue border )

    isnt too frustrating for the screen grab examples….. however choosing the draw, modify or properties causes the drop down to appear in the top left of the second monitor !!
