Connect Individual Plies
Can i connect individual plies in Bricscad BIM compositions rather than the entire composition?

Connect in a way that you do not have to model down to the Component level, to get a correct Plan display ?
(And still have separating Lines)0 -
Hello.
If this is about using the LCONNECT command, this command connects walls using their whole thickness.
For working with plies, you could experiment with using the PUSHPULL command to adjust individual plies and create a custom connection.

Hi Zoomer. Yes, you are correct.
Virgil, thanks. I have experimented with PUSHPULL, however it does not offer a solution in all instances. I have resorted to creating individual plies with Component definitions and then used THICKEN to create the individual plies and assign Component definitions to them.
I am transitioning from Bentley Open Buildings Designer where there is a tool called 'Build Wall Assembly' that does a similar thing, but which has greater flexibility and preassigned properties. Wall assemblies can also be predefined exactly as in BricsCAD Composites, but the assembly group can be toggled on or off to allow for manipulation of individual plies or the assembled group definition as a whole. It would be great if BricsCAD could include a tool that does the same. Saves a lot of time.
Thanks for the response from you both

I had modeled on a per ply basis with PushPull. But I had so many changes that it was (user) error prone and no more fun.
I think the next time I would stay connecting on object level and ignore plies, although it was a small model.
So far I have not tried if could finalize all connection details by PROPAGATE once the modeling is finished, or how much effort and outcome that means.0 -
Hi Zoomer
I think your experience and mine points to the opportunity for the Compostion editing tools to be expanded and supplemented.
I think your comment regarding PROPOGATE is interesting. Think I'll give it a try
