Ellipse+line - 2 regions?

Hi, I am struggling with creating regions from an ellipse crossed by a line. After selecting both ellipse and line, then using REGION, it creates only one region from the ellipse.

    For me it works when I activate boundary detection option for selection and hover my cursor over one or other area and create Regions after each other.

    But for selecting Ellipse and Line I get the same result as you, one large Region.
