BIMSECTION RENAME DESTINATION SHEET SLOW PERFORMANCE

Hallo

we are implementing our first BIM project and we noticed that when we crate interior BIM sections and we selected them all to update the destination sheet, we have a very slow performance. Bricscad stalls for 15-20 seconds. All files we are located on a central NAS with a 1 Gbit ethernet. Standard transfer is 500-600 Mbps, but when we update the link speed dropsn to ~50 Mbps which is very slow. A quick search pointed to SMB being very slow with continuous responses typical of Bricscad querying and updating project database, templates and related files.

ANyone experienced this latency and is there any way to expedite this ?

    It’s not your network. BIMSECTIONS (volumes) have chronic performance issues especially apparent in paperspace. Even a local DWG, the smallest 3D model with less than 1,000 parts and a Bimsection volume will display massive slowdowns in paperspace trying to pan, dimension or anything else. Add some VPTransparency in any viewport will further produce slow performance.

    IDK how BricsCAD developers and product managers let this pass QA QC testing.
