Anyway to make a parametric block and not have it go anonymous when you adjust it?
The title says it all. I want to be able to create a parametric block with attributes, adjust the block using the grips, and then be able to double-click back into the block to be able to edit the attributes. Using the properties palette after the block becomes anonymous is not convenient at all.

I think that’s by design, the names must be unique and by editing, it you have effectively created a new block

You can via lisp insert a Dynamic block and pop DCL's to change values in that dynamic block say rather than dragging or set visibility etc. Should be able to also pop a dcl that shows empty Attributes and enter their values. All part of a new insert type command.
As Its_Alive said each block gets the name "*Uxxx" where xxx is different every time. But you can find the blocks by their "Effectivename"
Yes have code, happy to do something, need sample block.

Hello.
Using anonymous blocks makes it possible to have block inserts with different configurations but linked to the same block definition.
If the block insert is not anonymous then its configuration is always identical to the one of its block definition.Concerning editing block attributes, this should work fine with parametric blocks, similarly to static blocks.
However, it might be required to add a new double-click action, that is specific to this case.Double-click actions can be added by using the CUSTOMIZE command.
This command opens the Customize dialog box.
After activating the Mouse tab, there is a navigation tree available.
One of the main nodes is "Double-click actions".The procedure is like this:
- Right-click on that node and choose Append ...
- The dxf name is ATTPARAMBLOCKREF.
- The name should be something that is convenient - this name is displayed in the tree.
- The action can be found in the Attribute toolbox - Edit Block Attributes.
Once this action is in place, double-clicking a parametric block with attributes will open the Attribute Editor.
