Debugging Help
My office uses a very customized Intellicad setup (LISP's) to develop Electrical and Mechanical Architectural Drawings (2D only) for the construction industry. Currently, we have about ten cad operators working on ICAD 8 hours per day and I am getting many comments relative to the existing bugs and holes in the software. Some of these are as follows:Xclip removes the entire xref drawing (sometimes) - See other user commentsUndo command "leaps" without redo - See other user comments. No Spell CheckerNo Recover drawing routineMisc Crashes while loading custom menus.Loss of LISP routines during the middle of a drwing session.Copy clip and Paste Clip pastes entities at the same locations as the original copied entities.Real time pan and zoom lock-up ICAD.No layer filtering.Flyover snapping to blocks and xref's is still not working all the time. There will be more to come, I'm sure. Since the beginning of the year, there have been good program enhancements, however, I just thought some additional info and feedback will aid in the development provess. If anyone has some work arounds or future upgrade info on any of the above items, your comments would be appreciated.

Tim,I agree with all the above I have experienced using 0016. I now have 0025 but not tested yet. I support people with ICAD/ACAD and here a few more little and big probs. The inability to latch on to entities on locked layers and some blocks. The inability to snap on to entities in Model Space whilst in PS.The inconsistencies of dimensioningThe view command bugThe incredibly slow process of freezing/thawing layers in viewportsThe pop 0 issuesTools buttons becoming inactiveIllegal operation errorsCrosshair ghosting and so on.... The ICAD look can do with a face lift to bring in up to LT's standard especially with regards to PS (lack of tabulated layout spaces). Even the first variable listed says: ACADVER "14i" (it should be "15i"). I have said this before. The only difference between ICAD98 and 2000 is the fact that it can save/open 2000 DWG format. The rest seems to have stayed back at the ICAD98/ACAD14 level except it seems that more bugs have been introduced.Without prejudice but with the desire to see this program improve and take over or at least frighten ACAD to the point of reducing their prices too! However it is doing a top job in general for the price.Don't forget ACAD have been at it since 1984 or so to get where they are. By comparison ICAD is not doing too bad in just a couple years (and even less time in Bricsnet's lap)! I believe the day will come when ICAD will be at ACAD level. Stick with it guys!http://computersupport.itgo.comAustralia

The additional items would be a great enhancement and I feel they should also be strongly considered in the next upgrade. Thanks.I also agree with all the above mentioned at-a-boy. Stay with it guys! Your day will come.Tim
