Rendering & Materials

Can anyone tell me where to find an *.mla material library file, or how to make one. Also I notice their are *.LWI files, but I don't know how to utilize them. Basically I'm lost when it comes to rendering with materials. Thanks for any response.

  • LWI files are LightWorkImage files, they come with the LightWork renderer and (in the limited version that is delivered with IntelliCad) are solely used for the definition of the 'base' material. It is not possible to edit LWI files due to the forementioned limitations.MLA files are Material Libraries for QRender, the realtime walkthrough renderer delivered with BricsCad IntelliCad.Qrender materials can be defined with or without using texture bitmaps. The materials are stored in each dwg where they are used, so one doesn't need to send along a material library with a drawing. After defining some materials, they can be added to user defineable libraries. Materials can be imported/exported between libs and drawings.Remark: when importing materials from a lib into a dwg, there is an annoying bug: sometimes not the highlited but another material is imported. This will be fixed in the next release. For a backgrounder on Qrender, there is information available in the knowledgebase:http://www.bricsys.com/common/knowledge/topic.jsp?id=112
