Turn off a layer??

Any possibility (as in Autocad) to turn off a layer by picking up an entity at that layer?

    I think you shuold use freeze/thaw rather than on/off. For some reason you are able to pick items on layers that are turned off. (try using select all in an option). This can result in strange drawings. To me it is still a mystery why there are two versions. Also check http://www.cadopia.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000059-2.html .I have posted a lisp that gives you loads of little layering routines.(etc-lyrs) (originaly from cadalog.com)
