No trimming with V6
Just upgraded to V6 and now there's something amisswith the trim command. In one instance I couldn't trim aline between two points of intersections. Anyone have a problem with this as well?

Tim,could you please attach this drawing to a support request so we can have a look? We will be glad to investigate and solve this.Hans De Backer

Could you be a bit more specific. I can trim a line between two intersection points in V6Miles

So far the problem is trimming lines intersecting circlesand arcs. When I get time I'm going to experiment withthe settings controlling entity selection and see if that'sthe culprit.

Tim,I can't make Trim fall over with various combinations of lines arcs and circles (selection by mouse pick). Must be something quite subtle, as you hint, or system specific.Miles

I can get trim to work for the most part by turning impliededges off under drawing settings/entity modification.Of course that solves one problem but creates another. If anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears.

Just started to use this version. Have the same problem in using the trim function.

We received the drawing from Tim but till now could not reproduce the problem, probably because there is some tiny difference in the way we use the TRIM command options compared to Tim. We continue to investigate.Khai, can you please also enter a support request with a detailed description of the TRIM options used, as well as the points we should pick in the drawing.

I can produce a trim problem quite easily by drawing two crossing lines at random (non-orthogonal) angles at large coordinates (e.g. 1000000,1000000). Unfortunately, large coordinates are common if your default drawing unit 1=1mm

Thanks, this is a helpful tip, this is a trim problem we can reproduce. We will fix it with priority. Unfortunately, it looks unrelated with the problem Tim mentions: that one occurs at coordinate (150, 105). But we'll get there.

I'm sorry to say that trimming is still critically malfunctioning. Working with edgemode on is next to impossible, this is a real pity because it is normally a timesaver. There are also other erratic problems which I seem to be related to this: crossing selection suddenly refuses to work, snapping stops working until you zoom. Sadly, I can't seem to reproduce these problems reliably, they just occur regularly while drawing.

It is not clear to me which V6 build is referred to, but I assume V6.0.0007?During last month we have been fixing all TRIM issues that we could reproduce and tomorrow a beta test build containing these fixes will be created. If no showstoppers come to surface during the testing period we then can update the release build.Meanwhile I want to repeat my plea to enter these problems as a support request, with a drawing attached and a step by step instruction concerning which TRIM command options are to be used, which entities we should select, how we should select them, what is the PROJMODE setting, and anything else you feel that could be related. This really helps to get problems solved quickly.Without this information it is very hard to reproduce TRIM problems: e.g. I just have checked a number of trim operations using edgemode on, but 'of course' they refused to fail...

I've found that whenever I insert a block at a scale greaterthan 3X it causes the trim command to malfunction. Turningimplied edges off helps but it's not a permanent solution. Senta support request in to see if they can duplicate this. Myversion no. is 6.0.0007.

Just an observation: I seem to have a lot more of these types of intermittent problems when my ortho is turned. on. I sometime have to turn it off to get things to work - especially if I am also using esnaps.
