stupid hatch question

Please excuse a stupid question, but I'm under the wire here...I'm editing a drawing produced offsite that has a lot of hatch patterns that I would like to use in other parts of the same drawing. I can see the names of these hatches when I LIST them. But the patterns don't show up in the available lists for new hatches.Even worse, if you try to EDIT one of these existing hatches, YOU LOSE THE PATTERN because it reverts to one on BricsCad's list!

  • These hatch patterns are not installed on your system, and you'll be unable to copy or edit them. Bricscad installes with common hatch patterns installed, including the ISO patterns. You'll find them in c:\Program Files\BricsCad\BricsCad\Patterns\The drawing you are editing incorporated other patterns. Try to get them. Contact the creator ot the drawings and/or search the internet (some are free available). The *.PAT file contains the patterns. The *.SLD files are 'slides' of the pattern. If you only have the PAT file, but missses the SLD files your would be able to use the pattern, but the pattern won't show up as a preview in the BHATCH window under the Pattern tab.Gerrit

  • Thanks for the info. There's no way to aquire the pattern from the drawing without violating the intellectual property rights of the hatch's creator. In this particular case we're talking about $25 a copy. It's not worth it for such a small part of a small project, so I'll just Copy Explode Trim.
