program crash

After a new install of wine 0.92 and the latst bricscad i can't get it running as a normal user. I keep crashing with a segmentation fault. While as user 'root' bricscad runs just fine. I suppose this isuser rights problem. Any suggestions how to solve this ?Regards Henk Jan

  • I kept getting segmentation faults until I renamed .wine so creating a new version. If it doesn't work you can always revert to the old .wine.

  • I tried this. With the old .wine i only got the splash screen before bricscad wentinto debug mode. with the new .wine it starts normally but when i try to load adrawing is crashes. This is only as a normal user. Root works ok.Henk Jan

  • I think it is a permissions problem. Bricscad can't make a new.wine directory and a error.log file.Henk Jan

  • For each drawing, a logfilenow is created in the path that the LOGFILEPATH system variable points to: see the options>paths dialog. If this is a matter of userrights, changing the logfilepath to a directory with appropriate permissions could fix that.Could you try that please?Unless you deliberately share the .wine/system.reg file between users, all users have completely separate registries. Normally each user has full access his/her .wine folder.kind regards,Alexander Van Heuverzwyn, Bricscad
