Purge Proxies
Is there any way to purge unwanted proxy objects fromthe DWG database. At work, I convinced the boss to buya license of v6.2 for evaluation and as soon as a DWG isopened and saved with Bcad it gets tainted with theWipeout proxy object by default and subsequent users, opening it with AcadLT, get the annoying Proxy notification.-I couldn't find a way to disable this Proxy in Bcad andwonder why it is planted there by default...-Any help...thanks

The notice is probably about the ACAD_WIPEOUT_VARS object, which is not an entity. We'll check its usage. There are a few system variables that control handling of proxies however. If PROXYNOTICE is 0, then no warning dialog will be be shown.Which AcadLT version is it that shows this notice ?kind regards,Alexander Van HeuverzwynBricscad

Thank You for the attention...-AutoCAD LT 2000 by default creates the following CLASSESin the CLASSES SECTION of the DWG Database:-ACDBDICTIONARYWDFLTACDBPLACEHOLDERLAYOUT-BricsCAD V.6.2.0021 adds the following CLASSES by default:-ARCALIGNEDTEXTDICTIONARYVARDIMASSOCHATCHIDBUFFERIMAGEIMAGEDEFIMAGEDEF_REACTORLAYER_INDEXLWPOLYLINEOBJECT_PTROLE2FRAMEPLOTSETTINGSRASTERVARIABLESRTEXTSORTENTSTABLESPATIAL_FILTERSPATIAL_INDEXVBA_PROJECTWIPEOUTWIPEOUTVARIABLESXRECORD-At least the WIPEOUT related ones require an ARX app ofAutoCAD vintage and triggers the Proxy Notification alert(when PROXYNOTICE = 1) in the AutoCAD LT of other stationsin the office even when there are no WIPEOUT objects. Sois there some way of preventing BricsCAD from doing thistype of thing? Better still, is there a way to purgeunused or unwanted PROXIES...CLASSES etc.?-Cheers

Hello again,-In comparisson, Version 6.1.19.0 from another vendor (which Iuse at home), creates only the following CLASSES. -ACDBDICTIONARYWDFLTACDBPLACEHOLDERDICTIONARYVARLAYOUTTABLESTYLE-...and causes no Proxy Notification in AutoCAD LT.-At work, the Management is very sensitive to 'DWG corruption' andthe subsequent clean-up expenses when thousands of drawingsare involved. A good example of this is the 'Layer Filters'anomaly created by Autodesk. That has cost plenty and stillplagues us. Thankfully Bricscad gets rid of those simply by openingand closing a DWG. The downside is still those pesky proxies.Need a way to purge em....

Does it help saving as R12 DXF?

Thank you for the suggestion Ragnar but the thrust of my posthas changed toward someway of preventing the Proxy Objects frombeing created in the first place, thus avoiding the extra stepsof having to purge them with another program. If we save asR12 DXF or DWG the proxies do purge but MTEXT and LINEWEIGHTget destroyed... (and whatever else R12 didn't support). The loss of MTEXT and LINEWEIGHT is not good for us..This issue may be of little significance to other users butthe lack of a ready fix has ruined Bricscad's chances as aviable alternative at this workplace office.
