Tables or Excel Spreadsheets in V8
I looked to see if Tables were supported in V8 and it looks like they are not (not just proxy objects for tables created in AutoCAD). It is possible that I just don't know where to look, and don't even know for sure if "table" is the correct command to look for.Anyway, assuming tables are not supported, I've been looking for an alternative. I was looking at embedding an Excel spreadsheet. When I embed a spreadsheet, I am having problems formatting the spreadsheet. It seems to default to showing the existing print area on the spreadsheet. But, if I save the drawing, reopen it, then edit the spreadsheet, the file menu seems to be only a subset of the full Excel menu. Specifically, the file menu is more limited and does not have the option to set print area.Furthermore, when I click on the drawing, to exit editing the spreadsheet, I do not get my BricsCAD menu's back... There are no menus at all. So, that is a bug. But, object embedding has always been problematic, and one of those things that will probably never work right. So, while I can embed a spreadsheet, I cannot change what part of it is shown by BricsCAD after creating it. Essentially, this makes editing an embedded spreadsheet impossible.I know I can just use text objects, as AutoCAD required back in 2002. Any other suggestions for creating table-like objects in BricsCAD?Joe Dunfee

Hi Joe,
We've a a utility name QTBOM (abbreviation for Quantity Take-Off with Bill Of Materials) developed.
This utility allows you to select random attributes from random blocks, select random area of blocks in the drawing and generate a table with Column headings and totals of each of the blocks in that selected area.
It'll be good if you can provide us with your sample drawing to let us test the QTBOM and return you with the results for you to evaluate if this utility would be useful for you.
You may email your sample part drawing to arthur@icad.com.my
We hope we can help.
Thanks!
Arthur Gan
