V 8 save file path

When I set the my save file path in the settings it re-sets to the Windows temp file when I close the program. The caption for this setting says that it sets the path for the auto save files in "this session". Does this mean that you have to re-set it every time you re-open the pogram? Is this happening to everybody else or am I the only one?
