IntilliCAD 2000 Crash

I have a problem. I have some drawings that after successfully drawing them, saving them, opening them again -- all of a sudden when I try to open it the program crashes and I get the following: ICAD caused an invalid page fault inmodule MFC42.DLL at 0167:5f47cb38.Registers:EAX=00000000 CS=0167 EIP=5f47cb38 EFLGS=00010246EBX=bff77d81 SS=016f ESP=00b1e918 EBP=00b1e984ECX=00000000 DS=016f ESI=00f0dce0 FS=4637EDX=81e11062 ES=016f EDI=bff773a9 GS=0000Bytes at CS:EIP:8b 08 50 ff 51 14 8d 45 f8 8b ce 50 e8 d9 7e f8 Stack dump:00b1e920 00b1e938 006e0049 00650074 006c006c 00430069 00440041 5f470000 00750052 00680073 006e0069 00200067 00610050 00630072 004c0020 0074006f Technical Support has been unresponsive. Any of you have a clue?? Thanks.

  • Hello, please send over a dxf that has problems opening. Or a dwg. The simpler the drawing the better. Please mention the icad build number (_vernum) and the OS too.regards, Alexander Van Heuverzwyn,Bricsnet

  • On Feb 19 I posted the same question here and to support.A reply from here quoted the following but I haven't looked yet. I note that I was using 2.2.0010 then.Which version are you using. I now have 2.2.0016 but I haven't used it that much to know if the bug is fixed.Old Reply:"Do a search for mfc42.dll at the Cadopia Forum, you should find several relevant threads.www.cadopia.com"See how you go!RegardsAndreas from Australia

  • Thanks for the info. My dwg crashes with both Ver 1 and 2.20016c. I don't understand why it only happens sometimes and not all the time. I will try the forum you suggested.

  • I had the same problem and was unable to get anyone to help. I finally installed my Norton System Works on my machine and set it to work. It found a bunch of errors and cleaned them up. Then when I started my ICAD2000, Crashguard worked on it. After several starts and crashes, it cleared up whatever was causing the MFC42.dll crashes. Have not had any problems since.

  • I do know there are more than one version of the mfc42.dll file that is used by different programs and sometimes the wrong one is found and used. This was a common thread in the Eaglepoint Civil discussion group for awhile. Eaglepoint uses ACAD and/or ICAD. You might look in their past postings to find a solution.
