Check Spelling
Has anyone attempted to get the spell checker installed on V8? When I try to check spelling V8 wants me to download a spell checker "Hunspell". When I go to download Hunspell, all I get is the source code....having no way to compile this on my windows machine, I was wondering if there is a binary available somewhere.I think this would be a useful feature, but should be included, or more accessible.

The missing component to download would be a dictionary. The source code is not necessary.kind regards,Alexander Van Heuverzwyn.Bricsys

I guess I am lost here. When I try to check spelling, a window pops up prompting me to download a dictionary. When I click on the download button, I am brought to the Hunspell project page. If I then click to Dictionaries tab, I am brought to a wiki page for open office.org. I can download a specific dicrionary from there (En_Us in my case) in zip format. I then unzip the dictionary files, but all of this is external to Bricscad.I tried, in V8, to point to the dictionary by choosing the path to the .dic file in Settings/dictionaries. However, when I go to check the spelling of a word I get an error telling me it is an unknown dictionary.I don't know what else to do......

please download the english dictionaries in your program folder(where ddcad.exe is located) and change the path to the main dictionary (DCTMAIN system variable) to plain "en_US.dic". Then the dictionary should be found. The Hunspell website links to the openoffice website where the dictionaries are found: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/DictionariesIn the next update of the product we'll make sure the english dictionary comes with the installation. We'll also include improvements concerning lookup of the dictionaries.kind regards,Alexander Van Heuverzwyn,Bricsys

Alexander was mistaken about the name of the executable: it's bricsad.exe.
