The selection in the properties bar is not updated when you use SELECT (in the command bar).I found the useful command SELGRIPS for that. Strange the documentation does not mention it.

    The properties bar lists gripped entities only. It is not enough to select entities. This is by design.SELGRIPS is rarely called explicitly because usually people just use window selection without any command active. For more complicated selection operations (fence, subtracting..)     Excellent. That solves the problem of using "previous" selection for Properties.: "properties": "selgrips" "p"
