Model space

If a dwg that is created in AutoCAD is opened and saved in Bricscad v6, 7 or 8 the Model tab name, i.e. the CTAB variable, is changed from "Model" to "MODEL".This causes a problem if you are using a plot script because AutoCAD treats "MODEL" and "Model" differently. MODEL is treated as a layout which has a different sequence on the command line.If the drawing is opened in AutoCAD the name on the tab says "Model" and the variable CTAB says "MODEL".If the drawing is opened in BricsCad the name on the tab says "MODEL" and the variable CTAB says "Model".Does anyone have a Workaround for this?Regards,Arnold

  • Sorry, Bricscad 8 does not change Model to MODEL.However, I need a workaround for the drawings that have been affected allready.Regards,Arnold

  • I think more details are needed.quick check I did...In VBA (Bricscad7) I was able to rename the modelspace tab to "Model" (not updated in the interface, but when running the Plot command, the default Layout was "Model" and not "MODEL"However after saving and opening again it was "MODEL" again. In V8 I am not able to rename the tabname....However, if you open and close the file in V8, the model tab is named "Model" again...What about opening, saving and closing all files in V8? Did you try that? It is possible to do this automated for all files in a directory using VBA....also quite important, in what program are you trying to plot the files with your script (ACAD Bricscad V7 or V8)?other way would be to use VBA and check the name of the modelspace tab before using a RunCommand line with "MODEL"or "Model" depending on the name of the tab (you can get this with "tabname = activedocument.modelspace.name"I hope this helps.Perhaps I can do more if I know more....
