Read Only

How can i adjust a drawing that i've finished on "read only" mode.The goal is to protect it in the future.Thx - RSTAS

  • The way which comes to mind just quickly is, make a PDF file of it and sit on the original. PDF's have become very popular lately, in my area at least.

  • If you just want to protect it from being changed accidentally, you can right-click on the file in Windows Explorer, select 'Properties', and check 'Read Only' at the bottom.

  • Do you do print that way as a matter of course for all your own plots? That's something I hadn't thought of, is there an advantage in doing it the PDF way?

  • -I have searched another method than plot file (.PLT) for printing my works. The reason was that when the size of the printed sheet is more than the A0 size or A1 size, i have encountered with bricscad a lot of problems.With PDF file, no problem concerning the size of the sheet. I regurlarly print works that the size is around 1M80/0.90M-On another hand, with pdf file, i can reread my work exactly as the printed sheet will be . And be sure i have always something to correct.-I send PDF file to the print shop by e-mail.-I give a copy of the PDF File to my customers. They can read at home the file and if they wish, they can print a part at home on sheet A4.(Kitchen, bath, ...)These are some reasons ...RSTAS
