Spell Check Woes

I was wondering if anyone had a solution to a common spell check annoyance we are having.The spell check consistently flags any word in parenthesis as spelled incorrectly. ie. (test) would flag the word 'test' as spelled incorrectly, and want to change it by removing the parenthesis. Is there a way to train the dictionary without having to add words with parenthesis to the custom dictionary?
