Mouse pointer windowing error

Has anyone seen this before :- mouse pointer is OK for selection of individual items, but when drawing a window box, the selection does not start where the pointer is, and the direction of drag is wrong. Works OK for a while, then goes wrong. Tried 3 different nice so far. Works OK in default (Drawing1) but not the one being worked on. Must be software related - seems to work OK with other applications (not CAD).I am very puzzled, any help/comments appreciated.Using latest Bricscad version 8.2.10, computer was new this year (few months ago) using windows XP. Current mouse is USB, original was PS2 - same error.

  • No, but if there are running osnaps set, selections can be not what you want even if it's a plain not a crossing window.Snap on can also make selections unpredictable.Offset can work in the wrong direction or not at all with running snaps on as well.

  • Chcck the drawing to determine the current CS.

  • Thanks guys, searching the help files for co-ordinate systems etc. helped a lot. We don't use any 3D commands but normally draw 2D in model space, but the clue was the crosshairs slightly slanted - we must have rotated the view accidentally. Using the "plan" command to restore to WCS plan sorted it.Still a weird thing to see when we imagine a flat object. Thanks again.

  • It's too easy to do. Using the control and shift keys you only have to hold just the ctrl key for a second and it all goes pffft. Happens to me regularly.
