Dimension Text Offset

It is my understanding that "text offset" is the command I use to position my dimension text in respect to the dimension line. In my dimension setting I have been adjusting it from ranges of 1/4" to 1'-5" and the text will not move. I am trying to do this for a 1/4" = 1'-0" scale drawing. Am I using the incorrect command?

  • Yes, that's the setting, in the Properties palette (or, as the default setting for new dimension entities, in the dimension style definition in Drawing Explorer). It works fine in my v8.2.6 BricsCad.If you scale your dimension entities, the offset should be relative to print-out. I use 0.02 inches. The offset is increased by whatever Dimscale Overall is applied to a particular dimension entity. In your case, it would be increased to 48 x .02 = 0.96".
