Directory Sort
Suddenly V8's Open and Saveas explorer popup windows on my system sort every directory chronologically (oldest first). Even resorting by name does not hold for other directories or subsequent requests or sessions.Every other program on the disk still sorts by name, even B'cad V7.Have I done something wrong - is it reversible? Has anyone else experienced this?

Happens here too but for most apps. From memory it hasn't always been like this.I assumed it was a Windows thing - and I've not found any way of changing it. Annoying.

Well you can do that tedious Windows Folder Options thing (if indeed it sticks there), but for me it's hardly worth the pain as it only happens in Icad V8... and I'm still mostly using V7.

Does it help if you choose the details view in the open / save dialog and change the sort order to filename by clicking on the filename column title in the list box? That should change the sort order but I do not know if it will be remembered next time.I am away from my CAD system right now and cannot test.Regards,Greg

It might have happened when I chose Details view (but not re-Sort). I can't find a save dialogue, but no view or sort change sticks even when switching to a different directory.

Doesn't remember it here and and Windows Folder Options doesn't affect Open/Save windows. It is possible a software install or Windows update upset things.

I think I may have found an answer to this...Sort the SaveAs window as you prefer then hit Cancel while holding the Ctrl key. Seems to work here so far.

I did some googling on various terms and that answer came up a few times. I didn't believe it myself until I tried. Rather obscure and hardly intuitive for a problem that must affect many.
