Insert area of a polyline

Hello all,We are trialling Bricscad as an alternative to AutoCAD, but one of the very useful functions that AutoCAD (including LT) has is the ability to automatically insert the area enclosed by a polyline. If the polyline changes, so does the area calculation. I cannot see anything in Bricscad which is similar, can anyone advise how this might be overcome?Regards,Steve

  • I don't think this is possible in Bricscad since the equivalent of Autocad field objects don't exist yet. Similar functionality exists in an old lisp routine called AreaX, but it isn't dynamic (area text won't update until you run a separate "update" command). So it is probably not a good substitute for what you're after.

  • Thanks for your reply Asbjorn. Are you (or is anyone else) aware of any plans to introduce AutoCAD field objects?Regards,Steven
