V1.4

i jsut recently downloaded the latest version of V9 and there are a number of .dwg's which i can no longer open. i have tried reverting back to the original v9 and saving them as the current format but that does nothing. the two preceeding versions of V9 opened the drawings without a problem but the latest will not open the drawings. anyone else had this problem? cheers

  • I have not had that problem in any V9, currently using 9.1.6.

  • Please file a support request and attach the drawings, we will be glad to investigate and solve this issue.

  • Correction - all my dwgs seem to open from within V9, and by double clicking in Windows Explorer if Icad is already running. But when I double click a file without Icad running it stalls at the opening screen - Ctrl-Alt-Del - "Windows cannot find XXX.dwg (or null.dwg)".Right click on a file - "Open With" reveals 2 "Bricscad Applications". One opens V9 fine, I am assuming the other is a viewer version of Intellicad I was trying due to printing problems and it tries but fails to open Bricsys V9.Daniel you might find your problem has a similar cause.

  • I have reported the broken file association issue and it has been confirmed as a bug caused when V8 is uninstalled after V9 has been installed. The V8 uninstaller removes too many registry keys which breaks the association and causes the hang. It is scheduled to be fixed. Bricsys says that running the V9 installer again should sort the problem, but I think I tried this and it didn't without me manually removing as many registry entried that matched a brics* wildcard search and then reinstalling.

  • the very first release of V9 worked but versions since then have not worked with this drawing. i have triend going back to the original v9 release and saving as a current file type and also auditing the file but to no avail. i will send a support request with the dwg and hope it works out thanks guys
