Geometry library...
Is the new geometry library still expected in December?I ask because I would love to see a new and improved offset.Thanks.

At present, the new geo lib has evolved to the point that we have started its integration in the Bricscad source code. A few functions of the programming API's already are purely based on the new lib. For the coming two months, the integration will continue in parallel with finalizing the more complex methods of the lib. After that, we have scheduled two months of intensive testing (the new lib already is backed by several thousands of unit tests, but the integration itself also needs careful checking). So our schedule is to have the job completed by the end of Q1 2009.Kind regards

Thanks for the update Hans. It seems a good offset command is hard to come by... other CAD packages have their share of problems also. So far I use our civil design package (running on v7) to generate my offset polylines. This works but is rather time consuming.I have started reading "An offset algorithm for polyline curves" by Xu-Zheng Liua, Jun-Hai Yonga, Guo-Qin Zhenga and Jia-Guang Suna, Computers in Industry, Vol. 58, No. 3, pp 240-254 to get an idea of the algorithms involved. Is anyone familiar with another published method I should look at? Or another available solution?Regards,Greg Skelhorn

Well done
In the latest version the offset command works quite well.
I have some tests and it works on all (tests that failed in AutoCAD)Best regards,
