Program Update Procedures

I recently received a program version update notice. After downloading the new version, I ran the executable file (.exe) and was prompted for three options: Add/Change the installation, Repair the instllation, or Remove the instllation. The first two don't install / update the version currently installed, and uninstalling / reinstalling seems a bit drastic...how does the update proceedure work?

  • The update procedure should work like this, for updates of the same major version (like V9) : - if the version number of the update is lower than the version that you already have, the installation stops. - if it is equal, it does what you describe.- if it is higher, it installs the update over your existing installation. Is there any chance that you executed the previous installer (9.1.12) instead of the new one (9.2.7) ?
