Windows license to Linux

We are a Windows XP shop.

I don't like the prospect of being forced into Windows 7 as we upgrade computers in the coming couple of years.

(like what happened to us with Windows 98->windows XP)

So I would really like to eventually move our office  to Ubuntu Linux over the next year or so.

Will we be able trade our Windows Bricscad Pro v10 licenses (after we upgrade) to Linux licenses when the time comes?

By then I'm sure the Linux version will be concurrent with the Windows version.

  • I asked the same question by direct email before buying my license for MS-Windows XP, and I received this response:

[UTC 08:38 2009-10-14] EW: We do not sell products that are not released.
But we promise a low cost migration path from Windows to Linux after the native V10 linux is released. So you today can order Bricscad V10 for windows. Some of our customers do run this version under wine on Linux, but unfortunately we cannot support this. That is all info I can give today.

  • Does anybody know when the "native linux version" is to be released?

I keep hearing about it, that it's coming out soon, but I find no updates about it on the site.

  • Never mind. I just found Eric's update on the Linux thread. :P
