BricsCAD (Linux) V13 coming
Dear linux users,
quite a few complaints about BricsCAD (Linux) were posted, mostly requesting realistic rendering support for more graphics cards and requesting 64 bit versions or at least 64 bit installers.
A true 64 bit version of BricsCAD is planned already. A 64 bit version of BricsCAD for windows and linux is expected to become available this very year.
We are preparing BricsCAD (Linux) V13 at this moment. It should appear within weeks. It will contain a RedSDK version that is more recent than the one included in V12, in which many bugs are fixed and more graphics cards are supported.
The first beta version of BricsCAD (Linux) V13 will still be published with installers like V12, but as soon as the first beta is published, revising the installers will be started.
Rest assured that we will not abandon our linux version.
I hope I could take away some of your doubts, but I bet the coming releases will be more convincing.

Well, I will wait for V13 and hopefully "fixed bugs and more supported graphics cards" means it will run in 3D mode at least under bumblebee.

Obrigado por não nos deixar sem opções de escolha no sistema que resolvemos utilizar!
Sou Professor de curso técnico mecânico e na escola onde dou aula, resolvi mesmo tendo uma certificação oficial daquele CAD caríssimo, mudar todas as instalações para Bricscad no Ubuntu e estou muito feliz, o Dono da Empresa então nem se fale, falei sobre o apoio que vocês oferecem as instituições de ensino, quando instalo o Bricscad nos notebooks dos alunos sempre faço uma instalação com o Ubuntu e peço para eles fazer o registro que acredito ser justo, e assim vou mudando este paradigma que tudo tem de rodar no outro SO.
Os Alunos estão gostando muito dos recursos de modelagem direta!
Não sou a favor que tenha de ser tudo grátis, mesmo porque o principal pelo menos já temos e este é a menor das vantagens de trabalhar com Linux. As pessoas não usam o outro sistema por ser o "sistema das massas" e sim por alguns softwares que nele rodam.
Muito obrigado mais uma vez, vou fazer muitos tutoriais do Bricscad neste blog como meio de divulgar o trabalhos de vocês, meu desejo é que sejam prósperos sem jamais esquecer de que desta vida nada levamos apenas deixamos! O Amor de um filho é melhor que rios de dinheiro e isto não se compra!

How long will version 13 for linux be in coming?
I've been unable to use my copy for about 6 months because I have an ATI graphics card.
My support request says fix scheduled, for the last 6 months (since May 2012).
So I do not think you are going to fix it.
You will just release new version with fix (do I have to pay for fix that way?).
I want to support your decision to make a Linux version. But I want to use the program in the meantime, while the program gets better. Do you understand?
