Tablet Support in Linux
Does anyone have any experience with using a Tablet with Linux?
I have a client that on OpenSuSe who would ideally like to get their Summasketch II (old. but perfectly functional) running if possible.
Alternatively would appreciate any recommendations/experience with a new tablet.

Thanks for your replies. Looks similar to results I got from searching. May be possible, but not a trivial exercise Has anyone got any recommendations/experience relating to new tablet hardware?The user I'm trying to help is 83 years old, but still actively working! He use BricsCAD on both Windows and Linux, but would prefer to be on Linux. Main reason he isn't 100% Linux is he can't use his tablet. He likes using a tablet as it gives his eyes a rest from looking at the screen.Would welcome other ideas that might mimic the functionality of a tablet. Virtual tablet on a second monitor? Drag BricsCAD toolbars to a second monitor.regards,

Jason,Have you tried it simply using the Wacom drivers?As I recall, the Summa serial settings were 9600, N, 8,1 and that's the same as the default Wacom serial port defaults... I used to use a Summa tablet with Ubuntu a few years ago, but it has been so long that I don't remember what drivers, settings, etc. were needed. It looks like the config file for the Wacon drivers at the link above allow for lots of options... there is a chance the Summa tablet would just work.0
