Rapid zoom out

in the past I thought I had used Shift Middle-Mouse to spin around.
Now when I do the combination, it starts to spin, but then rapidly zooms out.
new feature?
i've been looking in the Customize menu to find it and turn it off, but so far no luck.

According to V14 user guide, SHIFT+[middle button] is the same as Real-time constrained sphere (RTROT command)
That's how it works here. Zooming requires rotating the wheel.
I'd guess you have a defective middle button sensor, that's falsely reading wheel movements instead of wheel click. Try another mouse, se if it works.0 -
I've found that some mice are just bad at this: you cannot click the middle wheel as a button without some rotation happening.0
