BricsCAD V13 I can't open .DWG file. Help!

I'm using V13 and I've been sent a DWG file that won't open.

I get the message saying:

Unable to load drawing:

Invalid file version
The file seems to be corrupted .
Try using Recover to load the file.

Is this potentially I've been sent a CAD file created in say AutoCAD and saved in a more recent version than my BricsCAD will allow? If so what version of AutoCAD do I need them to save it in so that my V13 BricsCAD can open it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Why not upgrading to Bricscad V14?

No, V13 can open acad2013 format and it's still being used for autocad 2015.

    Recover the dwg.
    If that fails:

I usqe still sort debug app, dassaults draftsight.
There I try to open and  recover  a problem dwg xcause related to dwg problems even better then the original autocad 2014.

Or send the dwg to bricsys support.

  •  If it's just a version issue, try the teiga converter from the oda. http://www.opendesign.com/guestfiles/TeighaFileConverter.
  • It was a file version issue which has been resolved but thanks for the Teigha FC link!
