viewbase built with newer versions of autocad causing 'unable to load' in bricscad

Im getting an 'unable to load' error when I try to open drawings in which other users that i collaborate with have built views from viewbase.
I was able to load drawings with views made from autocad 2015 and earlier, but not more recent versions.
Attached is the dialog box error and the crash report.
The dialog box mentioned to recover the drawing, which then enables the drawing to be opened.
