window Edit tool _BMOPEN does not work

First of all, a great tool. Thank You very much.
I have been trying to put it through its paces and came across this challenge.
I put in a Window and increased its size when I placed it.
After looking at it, I then wanted to reduce its height.
I looked at the tutorials and used the QUAD control which has an EDIT menu when hovering over the WINDOW.
Pressing on it doesn't work. It is trying to call the BIMOPEN command that does not seem to exist.
I took a screenshot of it (attached).
After placing component there is a real need to possibly change an aspect of it later, so I think the tool is required. Otherwise you have to re-insert a new window each time. A bit of a challenge if you want to lower the sill heights on all windows on a floor.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
kind regards

PS. I am doing a few posts on your great product.

  • Hi Max,

Try using BIMREPOSITION instead. This command allows you to move the door/window around, and by pressing the Ctrl key you can change its overall size.

To MOVE multiple windows & doors, you can select them all first, then pick the MOVE option from the Quad.

You can also use BIMINSERT to make copies of an existing window & door.

  • Changing Windows Height and Width I mostly do in Property Pane.
For me that is more comfortable and reliable over these blinking DYNDIMS
that appear in first Mode of the BIMREPOSITION before you switch to
    second Window Size Mode.

But I think MAX will run into another problem with his Wall anyway.
As he already reached the Wall's Top Edge with his Window, when he
decreases the Windows height (Or move the Window down a bit,
The Wall will not heal again to surround the whole Window when lowered.

Shape doesn't include the Property Bar.

Yes, this seems to be how the AI reacts to a Window placed at the top of the wall. You kind of get the opposite effect if you place a door at the bottom edge. Here the wall will move up and down when you move the door. In both cases you can get around this feature (or limitation?) by using BIMINSERT to make a copy of the object in a new location (away from the edge), then deleting the original object.

    Hi Michael,
I appreciate that top of wall wont heal. I can always put the window in again. I am learning how to use the programme.
I wanted to be able to adjust window opening so will try bimreposition with ctrl and see if that does what I need.

Thank you for advice on commands. Much appreciated.

It will heal by calling BIMWINDOWUPDATE (it's also in the quad, the window icon with green refresh arrows)

  • ^ Cool !
    That's what I need.
(Wouldn't mind when Bricscad would do that for my live though)
