Hi all
Can somebody please help convert this file (Revit) to any Bricscad supported 3D format.
Sorry to bother the community, but I really need this ASAP.
Thanks

PS: Only the shape matters, any other data is optional. ;-)

I tried with Vectorworks but I don't get much in so far.
(2x Text, some Guide Lines on Paper Space, no Geometry)

  • Hi Michael
Thank you so, much. I also struggled with this ".RFA" I believe it's a 2013 revision, but not 100% sure.
None of the readily available "viewers" can handle it.
My last attempt was with FME, not much to talk about also.

Revit has the very bad habit of changing file extensions, faster than we like.

Anyway I'm almost finishing making the geometry "by hand" I can live with that.
Once more thanks a bunch, much appreciated. :-)

  • I tried all options and there is a also Block inside,
but only a few 3D Polygons inside.

    • a data sheet.
    • Maybe Autodesk has a viewer to see what should be inside ;)
  • hehehe Yes they have, it's called Revit $$$$. LOL :)
Either case it's more than I could get.

    10GB + a big mess for 30 days trial. It's not worth.

3DS might be able to handle it, although I'm not sure 'cause I have none.
I just have access to Inventor, Acad LT, Bricscad and the free stuff online.

Fusion, Autodesk Viewer, etc. same thing, don't even recognise the file.
If you guys have clients dealing with this, prepare beforehand.
Can save a lot of time. ;-)

  • Sorry this is probably too late but here is the 3D model exported from Revit to dwg. There's not much in there!

  • Hi Steven
    Thank you, much appreciated.
Although in the meantime a managed to do it.

This file came as a surprise. Just as you said, I was expecting a LOT more information in there.
Definitely good file "translation" it's an area of our business that needs big improvements.
    Either case thumbs up
