Shapes don't display

Can somebody please advise where I should start looking at the software configuration if I just don't see any of the shapes as I try to add them to my page. I'm trying to add walls but all I can see are the coordinate pop-ups as I click but no walls are visible.

    I have seen this happen when the display adapter does not meet the minimum specifications.

    Are to cheating entities on a Layer that's switched off? Switch it on and prob umpteen attempts will all become visible!

    rkmcswain has the answer: my display adaptor is not powerful enough

    I can use my daughter's laptop.
