Text "primary point" (group 10)

Wow, don't like this at all. ACAD/BC returns the start point the "primary point" of text regardless of justification. Seems to me the insert point should always be considered the primary point for text, both for sheer logic and because doing it this way, any change to text that's not left/left-middle/left-top will cause CAD to have to recalculate the "primary point". Even height or width factor changes would change group 10 for certain justifications. Doesn't sound very "primary" to me.

  • Is this why it seems impossible to keep lines of text aligned as soon as some have descending characters, stacked fractions, etc.?

  • Hmmm, not sure. Have to do some thinking and experimenting to answer that. Interesting question!

  • @ScottS Your problem is related to mtexts. Steve's issue applies to text entities.
