Is there a way to Drape a feature line along a TIN surface in bricscad?

Hi,
I have recently moved to bricscad pro from civil 3D.
in C3D there is a way to drape a line on to a tin surface using feature line command.
is there an equivalent in bricscad civil?
here is a link to a video showing what i mean from C3D:

thanks,

  • That wd be gd. On a much smaller scale, I wanted to drape a paving grid onto the slightly shaped patio area of a tin, as a quick n dirty way to texture/embellish that bit of a 3D model. This could do it, but at the time Support said it wasn't possible - maybe is now.

I have much too less experience with TINs in Bricscad.
But from what Imight remember to have seen in the Videos,
I think /feel that it is likely possible already (?)

It would be great if a Civil Planner could chime in.

In v21 there is a built in TinProject command that will drape objects onto a TinSurface.

    TINPROJECT
Select TIN surface [selection options (?)]:
Select entities to project [selection options (?)]:
    Entities in set: 1
Select entities to project [selection options (?)]:
Erase selected entities [Yes/No] :y1 entities projected to TIN surface.

  • Well, that's strange. There doesn't seem to be an entry for TINPROJECT in the off-line help file.

    /s

Seriously, it has to be embarrassing that the off-line help file seems not to have been updated since V19. There are a half dozen minor references to V20 and that's it. Nothing for V21 -- although there are a lot of references to V18 features, so there's that.

I would get on my knees and cry if we could get back a proper help file and not a PDF dump of some web pages, but I'm guessing that is not going to happen either.

How about the fact that users STILL can''t assign a name (or description) when creating a TinSurface and if one is assigned in code the user can't change it in the PROPS dialog. They badly need someone participating in this developing branch with real world experience !!!

    That's as feeble as Bentley
