Document Tabs disappeared

Hello,
You can bring document tabs back by setting SHOWDOCTABS variable on 1.
You can find information about this here: https://help.bricsys.com/document/_systemvariablereference--SV_showdoctabs/V23/EN_US?id=165079269511860 -
I've tried SHOWDOCTABS. But it hasn't worked.0

In Autocad there was a way of toggling between drawings using a keyboard function. Can't remember what it was. Does Bricscad have something similar?0

CLEANSCREENON/OFF also toggles the tabs0

(which is annoying if you work in 3D and use ctrl, say, to temporarily prioritize face selection mode, then hit tab to selection cycle through entities under the cursor... you inadvertently end up switching to the next document tab!)0 -
I'm resurrecting this old post because my document tabs disappeared (on V21 Mac) and I haven't been able to find a way to get them back after spending a lot of time doing so. I set SHOWDOCTABS to 1 (on) (and back and forth from 0 to 1 multiple times). I tried CLEANSCREENON/OFF. I closed BricsCAD and shut down my computer. I tried changing DOCTABPOSITION variables but none resulted in the tabs showing up anywhere (with SHOWDOCTABS on). I reviewed Document tabs in SETTINGS but didn't see anything odd there (default settings checked). Is there a chance the doc tabs are somehow on but hidden? Did I miss some other setting or possibility? Thanks!

I should add, I also reverted to toolbar defaults multiple times and also tried different workspaces with none resulting in the doc tabs displayed.
