DocumentManager.IsApplicationContext not available in .net api, alternatives?

I am adapting some code by Tony T which he wrote to call commands at command line in .net.

One of the lines uses application.DocumentManager.IsApplicationContext

Bricscad is missing that, from all my investigation. Its important to the workings of the tool.

Any workarounds you may have seen? Tony's code on this is well known so I would guess this has come up.
