SECTIONPLANE - SECTIONPLANESETTINGS -SECTIONPLANETOBLOCK is there a better way?

Hello,

To create sections of my 3d objects I start with SECTIONPLANE, and place my plane where I want it. Then I use SECTIONPLANESETTINGS to make my sections look the way I need it. I finish by calling SECTIONPLANETOBLCK to finally create the section.

Is there a better way to get sections or at least to make the SECTIONPLANESETTINGS to stick? Am I doing something wrong?

I tried by setting up my SECTIONPLANESETTINGS in the template file but it did not have any effect.
