v27 text editing bug / and the temp FIX

edited November 3 in 2D Drafting

When editing an annotative text entity, with the texted variable at 0 or 2. the text becomes huge.
I have been using the 1 value to bypass.
An additional issue is converting text to mtext, again an annotative text object becomes quite large even though its is listed at the correct text height

Here is a video link to the issue

Comments

  • I delved further into the issue / bug:

Subject: V27: in-place editor for annotative text opens oversized by the annotation scale factor

Version: BricsCAD V27, Windows 11, Imperial units
    Steps:

    1. In a new empty drawing, set ANNOSCALE to 1:8.
    2. Create annotative text (for example “HELLO”).
    3. Double-click it, or run TEXTEDIT.

Expected: The editor shows the text at its on-screen size.
Actual: The editor and selection highlight open about 8× too large. The same steps at 1:1 are normal, and non-annotative text at 1:8 is also normal.
Notes: The result is the same at TEXTED = 0 and 2.

    Workarounds until Bricsys fixes it:

    • Set ANNOSCALE to 1:1 while you edit annotative text, then set it back.
    • Edit the text through the Properties palette’s Contents field instead of double-clicking.
    • Use non-annotative text where that’s acceptable.

  • Here is a utility that temporarily fixes the issue until Bricscad can fix the bug

  • I can reproduce zooming of annotative text during editing, but it still fully visible on the screen.
