I use architecturals on a daily base en i love working with it.I also appreciate all the efforts being done to improve bricscad and love to see it getting better and better. So thanks and keep on the good work (and please include the development of architecturals with it).

Of course, i'm also waiting for architecturals running under V9 Bricscad.More i work with Architecturals, more I says to me that this program is brilliant.I don't understand why there is no more user. Of course, Architecturals is not so easy to but "it returns it well"I can do ALL with this program.RSTAS

I was going to post on here just to bump it back up to the top or the list, when Richard beat me to it! As an every-day user of Architecturals, I'd really like to know where it's going... ...Erik?

We are 01 october 09 ... The "D" day for architecturals users ...The day where the new architecturals is coming and running under Bricscad V9, the new architecturals with all the new asked improvements and all the new icons ...The day where we are not anymore tied to Bricscad V7... The day of the liberation ! ;-)Just to laugh a little....RSTAS

If any strategic evolution should take place with Architecturals it would be a 'Building Information Model' orientation based on a IFD/IFC standard from the International Alliance for Interoperability.Unleashing the possibilities of a Bricscad platform with add-ons would have to go through this model. Only synthetic and coherent information can bring real synergy in AEC disciplines.I'm aware it would be a big step but competition has already taken it. Only by concentrating on standard IFC components (or whatever new standard yet to be defined) new 'CAD' programs can ensure their future. An example from the ever more advanced Scandinavian countries : "Finland Senate Properties product modeling requirements 2007 has decided to require models meeting the IFC standard in its projects as of 1 October 2007".Moreover this in in line with and promoted by the already dated ECCREDI Working Group on e-construction report: "Recommendation 2: The need for standards*" from 12/2003 (don't know the actual status). Probably all this is nothing new to Bricsys but some disclosure of their future strategy might reassure us that Architecturals will evolve into a broader and sustainable 'building modeling system'. Keep up the good work!

The promised update. We still have a team of developers full time working on the porting and they continue till the release. As said before, we will continue to support Architecturals on Bricscad Vx in the future. Also we are considering to make Architecturals a more strategic product for our company, which might be good for the Architecturals users community. You will forgive me that I can't disclose for now all the details of our strategy as we are in the middle of checking all issues. If we find no show stoppers we might have announcements about it somewhere around the end of the year. So the good news is we are approaching the release of Architecturals for Bricscad V9. The better news might be that this product gets huge strategic importance. I apologise for missing our self-imposed deadline. I can only say that everybody at Bricsys does whatever is possible to get it ASAP. Hope you guys continue to give us credit. But I'm sure you all will like our plan if feasibility seems real.I have also taken notice of Didiers remarks (#37 in this topic). We have followed the IFC evolution for the last ten years and we will do so very attentively in the future. Honestly it is still not the highest priority for us, but if massively used, we will follow of course.erik

Thanks for the update, Erik. I appreciate you being straightforward about what's going on, and the revised timescale. I'm not particularly worried about a few more months delay (I've been running BA on V7 for what seems like forever so a bit longer won't hurt ;o)) - my worry was that the product was at a dead end. I'm delighted this isn't the case.Personally I'd love to see you market Architecturals as hard as you can - it's a fine package and should, in a future release, be better still. Please keep us updated with progress.

I'm also very pleased to hear that architecturals is not dead but will still be developed. It was frustrating not to know what the future could bring us, but now i am certain that i will keep on using architecturals.

Are there any updates on Bricscad's functionality to be able to support IFC even if only partially?
Mike.
