Missing Tools

Hello Shape team,

In my opinion, some tools are missing for a common use of Shape.

for example :

  • Dimensions
  • stretch
  • polar array
  • array path

Are you planning to integrate them in a future release?

Best.

  • Ahm, why Dimensions ?
(If it is about those 2D annotation tools)
As it is a 3D sketch modeling App.
In Scale and Units of course.

So do you think about presentation needs or to control
    modeling scale ?

I would like to be able to all time read out length, width, height and
XY and base Z in World + Local Coordinates.
Distance Tool is existing but the rest should be available in a
Property Pane, Rollover Tips and all time cursor snapping read outs
if needed. Or a temporary 3D Dimensions Frame like found in Polygon
Modelers, editable like DYNDIMs at best.

I miss that in Bricscad too though.

I think that Dimensions are a good way to control the modeling and to realize a minimal documentation of the drawing like in SKETCHUP.

  • Ok, I agree.

  • Xrefs are integrated in Shape.
You can load a DWG with an XREF but you can't deal with it.

That would be easier to deal with XREFs Inside Shape.

What about the next realease, Bricsys Team ?

  • Hi ShapeTeam,

Line types are integrated in SHAPE.
But we miss a way to access line type inside SHAPE and access to objects properties in this first release.

    Best.

  • Hi ShapeTeam,

It would be fine if we could easily , as in SKETCHUP, use the distance tool to add guide lines made of infinite lines (with predetermined préférences for type of line and colour).

    Best.
