    You can get all the surface measurements required to examine the object's construction by scanning it using a 3D scanner. To duplicate or enhance the design, it is much simpler to comprehend the design intent. Scan to CAD is the process of producing CAD from 3D scan data.

    Scanning using a mechanical touch probe is the best way to verify accuracy. Modern scanning using laser or photogrametry is not as accurate. Try searching measurement equipment manufacturers and get one with a spherical ruby tip. It should also come with its own software which usually makes a .STL file to read back into your CAD.
