Exclude specific objects from BIMSECTION generated view
Hallo
we are working with a store design and would like to HIDE specific object a Bim section generated plan. How can this be achieved ? If I turn off the layer, the paving pattern below will show as broken / interrupted because both floor and furniture have gone through hiddel line removal.
Can I create a new Bim section and select which Items are affected or shall I simply use Layer state property in bimsection and create a layer state with selected layers off ?
Thanks
Luca

Hello.
BIM sections don't allow the user to select the entities to be included in the 2D view.
Using the layer state property seems to be, indeed, the solution for this case.

Hallo Virgil
I tested using layer states but the process is not always successgul: in theory, if layerstates control visibility of egnerated objects, altering / modifying visibility(on-off or freeze/unfreeze) in a named layerstate should be reflected in the result of the generated section.
But this is not always the case.
Is there a specific esplanation for this process ?

Hello.
The layer states associated to BIM sections are specifically designed to exclude the objects on some layers when creating the 2D views.
If there is a case where this feature doesn't work, it should be reported in a support request.

Thanks Virgil
which option is BImsection looking at ? is it layer on - off or layer freeze ?

Hello.
The layer states used by BIM section are regular layer states and work as usual.
You could experiment with using freeze, the view generation might be faster than when using off.

Few approaches,
1- Set the BIM Sections Layer to NON Plot so you don't see the marker on the PDF.
2- Freeze the layer, so you don't see them anywhere, but they still clip the display.
3-Make sure they are not set to clip display in modelspace, and set them to clip display in the viewports in paperspace.
4-Be aware, after you create a BIM Section, a BIM Section Layer is created but the BIM Sections remain on the current layer. A support request was put in ages ago to change this behaviour to automatically put the created BIM Section on the BIM Section Layer. Which is the logical expectation for this user.

I think you could also explore using typed plans to control visibility
